Athlone Property Development

I have an opportunity to develop on a piece of acquired land in Athlone.
Before I outlay any cash and commence a build I'd like to know more about investing in this town and its surrounds - in particular, Athlone town, Kilbeggan & Glasson.

Does anyone have any insight into the dynamics of the property market in this area? I will comission some of my own research but thought I'd start here.

I don't have an indepth knowledge of the Athlone Property Market, but I know that they are building a new shopping centre in Athlone(www.athlonetowncentre.com, www.athlone.ie) that is to create jobs for 900 people, due for completion in Jan 2007, this will may mean that there will be a demand for property in Athlone in the near future.
