Is it reasonable that a solicitor (who has playee a dual role as executor too) should charge for the transfer of assets? He received a substantial fee as an executor and when I requested a bill of costs for the recent sale of two properties I found he overcharged us - he is now saying that the overcharge can be 'in lieu' of the transfer /assent of remaining three assets . Please advise as we are not familiar with wills , inheritance

You probably should not continue to use a solicitor if you are unhappy with his service: consider getting your own solicitor.
