Are toll charges automatically or manually added to taxi fares?

Are Dublin Port tunnel and toll bridge charges added to the fare automatically by the taxi meter?

Or, are they added on by the taxi driver at the end of the trip?

I have had both. Sometimes driver asks when I have just sat into the car and if I say yes they sometimes key in the amount as extras

I have never seen them added automatically.

You could check by watching the meter as you go through the toll charging point and see if it jumps up
