Are investors happy with De Giro brokers

Scheduled maintenance this Saturday, 23 August 2025
Dear Investor,
Due to periodic maintenance, to continuously improve our systems and services, the platform will temporarily be unavailable on Saturday, 23 August 2025, from 10:00h - 13:00h CET.
It will not be possible to log in to your account during this time.
Our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Kind regards,
DEGIRO.

This was Saturday not Sunday, would this have anything to do with your inability to log on?
Just seen this is August!

Probably not a concern for this audience but my post on Linkedin may be of interest to some

There's no dividends withheld on UK shares outside of REITS as far as I understand. My broker Interactive Investor deduct taxes direct on dividends. 15% US, 25% Irish, Varied EU etc but never any on the UK bar REITS

Thank you Larder13,that is what I understood. I was just a bit confused by reply below and some recent posts on this site.

Dear Sir,

Please note that DEGIRO, as your broker, is required to apply the statutory withholding tax of the country where the dividend-paying company is domiciled. The applicable rate is determined by local tax law and, where relevant, by any tax treaties in place.
Which statutory withholding tax rate applies to the dividend income in my account (Link)

US dividends: For reference, dividends from US companies are subject to 30% withholding tax by default, but this is reduced to 15% for Irish-resident clients if you have a valid W-8BEN form on file (which you currently have).

Other markets: Dividends from companies listed in other jurisdictions are subject to the local statutory withholding tax rate of that country.

You can always verify the applied withholding for each dividend by checking your Transactions Overview in your DEGIRO account.
