Approximate legal costs to recover debt

Hi all

I have a tenant in a commercial property and she is €10,000 in arrears, would anyone have any idea of the following costs?

A) Legal costs involved in recovering €10,000

B) In the absence of tenant not paying the €10,000, following a ruling, the cost of registering a judgement against her?

I cant answer your exact questions but firstly, do you think the person has the ability to pay you ? If so I would get a debt collector to try and recover it first before the legal route. They will charge about 10% to 15% but may be a better/quicker option. If you feel they can't but have a large asset then go the legal route direct I guess.

The tenant has recently come back to us..... It APPEARS as though she will pay ... I'll believe it when I see the cash in the bank ....
Hopefully I'll have positive updates next week. ....
 
Hope it works out for you and the tenant pays up. If that happens, I would take whatever steps are needed to make sure it will not happen again with that particular tenant and get a new one.
