Approx. labour costs for replacing cold water tank?

Don't know where you are getting your tank from. the ones I buy are 61" L x 20" w x 22" h and I pay around €160. The tank holds approx 52 gallons. then you need new ballcock, new tank connectors, new pipe work to suit change in installation. Maybe new valves.
I'd put about €400 plus vat on it.

€200 labour. It could take the best part of the day depending on how awkward it is, although it may take a few hours. If installer feels it will take more than half a day they will charge you a days money.

OK thanks Davy - yep quoted 'about €75' for 60 gal. plastic tank with lid inc. ballcock and couple of valves from a plumbing supplies co. - is it likely this is a low quality one or is yours maybe quite high spec?
As you say, I guess a lot could depend on the literal plumbing aspect - how awkward or not it might be to utilise existing pipework/connections etc.

WoW, he is charging you €80 to fit a tank. After income tax, VAT,insurance, transport cost, he must be clearing around a score. Ask him does he want to work for me

Good to see my daily labour rate is about right though.I know you have to see the job Davy, but roughly what would you have charged - given my guy said it was 'straightforward' - made a point of mentioning that 'all the connections are on one side' or something as well - if that's relevant.
Can confirm BTW that yes, definitely can get suitable tank+ ballcock + valves for €75-€80.
How I price things like that is I caculate how long I reckon it will take to do it. so roughly I charge €200 per day per qualified man plus VAT. If it is a job that is booked in. about €60 for an apprentice.
by the sounds of it it it will take approx 3 hours to complete your job. So it would be €25 an hour or €32.5 per hour if there is a trainee plus VAT
The trick is to make sure that you book in jobs in the same area so travel time is minimised between paying hours. Labour only jobs are the least profitable as there is no up mark on materials.
In the plumbing world, sometimes it is impossible to price because you will come across things that you didn't expect. So if you have been given a fixed price there will be a certain % added to allow for unforeseen circumstances. Although in small jobs this shouldn't come into play.
