Hi,
Our solicitors charge us VAT at 23% on direct outlays for official offices they have paid on our behalf in Ireland and other legal offices in Europe e.g. CRO, Oaths Commissioner, Patent Office. If they are not paying VAT on these fees, should they be applying VAT on their invoices to us?
This doesn't have a net effect to us as we claim it back from the revenue but just curious.
Many Thanks
Easel
