In a bit of a quandry!

I work in the education sector but really wanted to move into the VEC. I have found it quiet hard to break into the type of roles that I want and have realised that i really need to try apply for a job with a lower salary than i wanted and hope for a promotion within a few years.

Anyway, i applied for a job last week which in honesty I dont think i'll get an interview for but I thought i would at least try. Then today, I've seen an advertisement for one which i would probably be better suited to but with lower salary. Should i also apply for both jobs or is two applications to the same place a little desperate?

I don't see the problem - it could even show how keen you are to work for the company.

Really depends on how different the two jobs are. It could show that you really aren't sure in which direction your career is going.

Without the spec of the jobs you'll only really get a speculative answer.

They're both administrative posts but one refers specifically to development of particular part of education (this is the one which i dont think i'll get).

If i do apply for the second one, will i make reference to the fact that i have already applied for a job?? - the HR contact is the same so i assume they will make the connection.
