Application for switching mortgage accepted, what's the next step?

Hi all
Got notification my loan application has been accepted by Ebs today. I'm currently with aib. The mortgage advisor has told me she will organise the valuation a.s.a.p. I have a solicitor in mind so I'm wondering should I contact him now or wait for an acceptance letter off Ebs? Also approximately how long will it take to get to the end of the switching process? Is there anything else I should be doing now?

No harm getting a quote from your solicitor now. They have to provide you a written quote, and I've found them great at pointing out little costs that you don't automatically think of yourself.

You may also have to review your life assurance at this stage - see if you can change beneficiary bank on your policy without getting a new quote, or it might be an opportunity to shop around.
