Young relative going for mortgage with Avant and they have recommended Jacob Law online solicitors so just wondering if anyone has used them?

On the one hand its not recommended to use the company's recommendation but on the other hand if they use them all the time it may make for a speedier and simpler process? Set fees for example but we will be checking these out by getting one or two quotes from elsewhere too.

I have seen people taking the recommendations from the estate agent selling the property and this is an absolute no no.
I have also seen people taking the recommendation of the property developer which is just as bad.

The solicitor recommended by the lender will be making absolutely sure that the title is good.

I see a conflict between the seller and the buyer. But I don't really see that much of a conflict between the bank and the borrower?

Surely any solicitor has a moral, professional, and regulatory obligation to act in the best interests of the client (buyer) regardless of who suggests/recommends them or hooks them up?

The seller and buyer using the same solicitor would definitely be a no no due to the obvious conflict of interests, but I don't think that the Law Society/LSRA or the law itself allow that anyway?
