Any recommendations for removing a Sky satellite dish from a house?

Not sure if I'm allowed to ask this here, but I want to be rid of the Sky dish which will never be used again.

I'm south Dublin based.

You own the dish, so you can remove it whenever you wish.

A ladder and a decent spanner will do the job. You can unscrew the cables from the LNB if you want to keep it - it may have a small resale value - if not, then just snip them with a strong pliers as close to the wall as possible.

Thanks, but it's on the outside of the first floor wall and, at that height, would be foolish of me to try and remove it at my age.

Anybody confident working on ladders could remove it in a few minutes. If you don't have a friend or family member to do it, you could leave it there until you have someone doing ladder work at your house. Painter, window cleaner would probably do it for a small extra fee.

Make sure that the house insurance covers this kind of thing - just in case!

Without the dish what are you going to do for TV service? The dish can be used to receive many free to air UK channels.

If you do remove the dish, don't cut the wires to the LNB, wrap them in tape and push them back under the soffit leaving them accessible should you change your mind in the future. It can be a real pain to run new cables.
