Previously posted re problem with pump for shower cutting out. Anyway got plumber who installed it back who said pressure had leaked out of little chamber on side of pump, like football deflating was example used. He put pressure back into it using my foot pump and said should be fine. Worked for one shower, second shower it stopped for few seconds and came back on, third time it lasted long enough to make sure there was plenty of shampoo in hair and then stopped. Not happy bunny having to dash back with soapy hair to piddling old electric shower. Does this explanation for what was wrong sound right? If it does then any idea why it stopped again. This shower pump has just reached its 2 yr guarantee time, mind you I contacted plumber before this time was up and first repair? was done within that time but a shower you cant rely on is no good so I want to have my facts straight when he comes back. Any help appreciated.

That does not make sense put pressure back in using foot pump. In order to help would need to know what shower and type of shower is installed.
From your description it does not sound like just a set of taps so the shower must be an electric one something like a Triton or Mira shower. They have 3 different types. First the instant shower which is unpumped but requires a certain PSI or water pressure to work. The next would be a pumped which also heats water and the last a pumped that uses hot water.
Can you find out what type or make and model the shower is ? It might be printed on it.

It is not an electric shower, it works from hot water tank and is upstairs, the pump which is a fairly substantial looking thing, very noisy is downstairs in the hotpress. Make is Watermill ANHPC 60DVL high performance, low voltage. I know it sounds like a ridiculous way to fix something but that was his explanation and he attempted to show me how to pump it again myself with 1 bar pressure if it happened again. I gave him the benefit of the doubt but when it happened again so soon I have to say I doubt the explanation I was given and would expect more from a pump that cost approx €600 if I remember correctly.

I will give you the same advice as last time. Assuming your plumber has a good relationship with his supplier, a service call out will be covered under warrenty. I strongly suggest you do so. Here it is again.

IF the pump is still under warrenty, connect the supplier of the pump (local merchant, etc) inform them of the problem or get plumber to, they may ask for receipt. The supplier will then contact the manufacturer who inturn will contact a serviceman and arrange a site visit I.E your home. Even if the company is based outside Ireland they will have local pump men on contract.
The pump has to be inspected on site and fitted to ensure the problem is not installation related. If the problem is not related to the pump you will be charged a fee.

I don't know anything about this shower so can't help you further. I imagine if an issue started before warranty expired you should be still covered by the warranty. Watermill is owned by Grundfos and it might be helpful to give them a call for their opinion.

Thanks for replies, I will contact that crowd tomorrow. Warranty is up now since 28Aug but as I contacted plumber re problem prior to that dont feel that is an issue. I obviously dont have a receipt for the pump as the plumber supplied it and the shower at the time but as far as I'm concerned thats his problem.
