Any more basic alternatives to AITI?

Hi All,

I'm interested in doing some study on taxation. The only course I can find is the AITI course, however as this is quite new to me, I feel that I would like to start with something more basic.

Does anyone know if there is anything out there?

Thanks,
Ginger

there is a tax technician course - it is also administered by the AITI but it would be more basic than the full AITI exams and lasts one year. Could be of assistance.

Why are you studying tax? For a career in tax? As an extra to your current skills? For your own business?

If you want a career in tax, you really do have to go the AITI route and they are tough exams.

Hi Brendan,

I mostly just want to know a bit more about it, both for personal reasons and as an extra to my current skills. I don't really need a qualification in it as such, that's why I was looking for something more basic that AITI.

Thanks,
Ginger

Well than it sounds like the technician AITI is you man, have a look at their website or even give the education section a buzz they are very approachable
the technician course will introduce you to nearly all tax heads but from a compliance perspective, and sure if you really like it you can go on then and start part 1 of the full AITI exams
