I logged on to post a similar question. My LTV is < 50%, with AIB, so 2.75% interest with 20 years left, I have some money in shares and thinking of selling to reduce the mortgage as much as possible. I am concerned that over time inflation will increase (including salaries) and interest rates not raise.. so I'm trying to figure out whether to reduce now.. or just keep paying what I'm paying...

You haven't given much to go on but unless you expect the shares to return greater than 6% p/a I would sell them and pay off your mortgage.

Would you take out a loan at 2.75% to invest in shares?

Because that is what you are doing.

Sell the shares and pay down your mortgage.
