Annual Lease and Notice Required

My brother has a house which is let to the same tenants for 3 years. There is an annual lease for same which expires at the end of March. He has now decided to sell the house as he feels it is just not financially viable to continue as an accidental landlord with Interest restrictions, USC, PRSI etc. etc.
He wants to leave the tenants in the house until the current year's lease expires (March 2018). The question he has is what notice does he need to give them that he will not be renewing the lease post March 2018??

84 days – so the notice of termination would have to be issued first thing in the new year at the latest.

Link to sample notice of termination –

Don't forget that a statutory declaration needs to be sworn before a solicitor so it probably makes sense to attend to this before Christmas.
