Anglo-Irish bank

I am thinking of lodging money in Anglo-Irish bank. Does anyone know about this crowd? Are they like one of these merchant banks of the 1980s who took all their customer's money when the going got tough?

I wouldn't have any such worries.

Very profitable bank but that's because it's well run more than anything I would have thought. But that's not based on any particular inside knowledge.

Deposits of up to €19k approx are covered by the same 'Depositor Protection' scheme as applies to all the other major banks.
