Ok,

Here's what we do, we setup a syndicate. This syndicate pools their money until there is a lot of it.

By lot, I mean enough for us to approach a company like vanguard and buy funds through them at 0.5 or less management fees.

Also; the money in the pool is yours, not the syndicate's, you maintain complete control of where your money goes.

Each of us going alone would be told to go away because we're not big enough, but if a large group of us decided en masse to approach vanguard, and were represented as a single entity ie: the syndicate, then I think it could work.

I think it would be worth going to talk to vanguard to see if they are receptive to the idea, I suspect they will be.

And then everyone avoids the Irish fund companies for the plague most of them are, and gets low management fees on their funds.

May I be permitted to say: Yay! :)

So; Good idea? Stupid idea?
