Amount allowed to earn Tax.

Hi.
on a pension of 32.800.
I am single. ( Divorced)
I have paye allowance / standard. i have same paye allowance as single parent child allowance as child is in college for next few years ( hopefully) and lives with me.

question.
hiw much can I earn weekly before I go into the higher tax bracket.
I was offered part time job and just wondered.

Annual Allowances:
Single €35,300 at 20% balance at 40%
Singe, widowed or surviving partner with child carer credit €39,300 balance at 40%

so as you have the child carer credit you could earn €6500 per year which would be €125.00 per week before reaching the 40% rate.

Ok , Many thanks. I have: 1.Personal Tax Credit 1.650. 2. Single Person Child Carer 1.650. (I have applied to retire /Not actually retired till mid Jan)
3. Employee Tax Credit 1.650.
That's super ... Can I add another other query please , if I start with a new employer at end of January / 3 hours a day -Mon - Fri , just
will I retain that "Employee Tax Credit" of 1.650 , after I have retired? - employed by a new employer?

It will be school bus driving I would think most likely , that is a 38 working week , could I "sign on " for the weeks schools close and in that case I could earn in excess of the €125.00 per week as the €125.00 is calculated on a 52 week working year I presume.

Yes you retain the 1650 employee tax credit which you can use for a new employer or against your pension. You have to be under 66 to claim Jobseekers benefit. Regarding the €6500 you divide by 38 if that is the number of weeks you work.

oh ok that's great so if do 38 weeks , (bus run) , that's 6500 divided by 38 - I can earn 171 euro a week at 20% balance 40%.

that's great , would you happen to know I appreciate its a different area , can you then sign on for remainder of year and is that credit/stamp
of any use at 66? (I have paid B I think stamp in public service for 35 years , not full benefits I know & 15/20 A stamps prior to joining up)
