Amalgamating pensions

Hello,

my wife recently changed careers and is now working as a primary school teacher. Prior to that, she worked for 16+ years in RTÉ and UCD.

She's not in a permanent teaching post but has been working full time since she qualified, between subbing and covering maternity leaves etc. and makes the standard pension contributions to the Dept. of Education pension.

What's the wisest thing to do with her three pensions now? Can/should she amalgamate them all into one now that she is working for the Dept. of Education and plans to do so until retirement?

Thanks in advance,

L

RTE is semi-state, so can't be merged with PS pension.

Was she a PS in UCD?

If so, that pension could be added to the DES pension.
