We replaced our old PVC windows and doors with Aluclad triple glazed units from one of the leading companies in Ireland. The installers (who appear to be subcontractors of the windows company) told us all the windows had been measured incorrectly and that the installation had been a nightmare.
The front door was removed and reinstalled because it was off centre due to a packer being the wrong size. We had to wait three months to get the mastic done. Four months after the delivery we still have numerous problems, e.g. drill holes in large fixed pane windows, trickle vent missing in one window, restrictors missing on windows, numerous incidents of damage to both the wood and aluclad. We are finding it almost impossible to get anyone to take responsibility for the situation.
I am hoping someone here can tell me what quality checks or inspections should have been done and by whom. Are there any independent companies who could review the installation?
