Nationwide Alternative source for recommendations

Anywhere else that we can see reviews of people who have already dealt with advisors, sort of like a tripadvisor for financial advisors?

A few google searches didn't show much unfortunately.

Having spent part of today reading up on tips on how to find a good tax advisor, most advised to ask an advisor for references and who will be doing my work.

Do advisors provide this information happily, or will some be offended / impatient that they're dealing with somebody who's still not a paying customer?
