Altenator Gone Cost for Replacing ?

Alternator on VW Polo 02 has gone and left it in to get replaced

Ball park figure how much should I be paying ?

I am prepared for the worst

I would go to a breakers yard probablysomewhere between €25 and €40-00. Perhaps €100-00 or more if you are dealing with a main dealer-hard to say. Then again it may only be the brushes that need replacing, which is small money. (labour to replace brushes will cost more than the brushes)
