Customers of Allied Irish Banks should be aware of a fraudulent e-mail circulating at present supposedly from the bank's internet banking division, aimed at people who do their banking online.

There are many emails of this type circulating allegedly from their bank, and the FBI recently advised banking customers in the United States to disregard mails of this type entirely.

Many people have responded to these apparently urgent requests in the past to enter their personal information, only to find their accounts have been emptied.

With the banking industry in crisis, clever criminals are attempting to cash in on the present uncertainty.

For months and months anyone who uses aib online banking knows about this as its on the 1st page of when you log into AIB ONLINE

Thanks for the warning, I am with AIB but do not do Internet Banking with them but I had two such emails when I came in this morning. I had ignored them anyway.

is that an active mailbox or does it go straight to /DEV NULL?
