According to Niall Brady in today's Sunday Times, AIB will offer negative equity mortgages to customers of other banks.
There are no details, but I presume that they would only do this in very limited circumstances e.g. a loan to income ratio of 2 and probably a fairly high mortgage rate. But if the rate is high, why would anyone switch?
