Does anybody know what the situation is with banks issuing new loans - are they still giving out loans, are they only dealing with a select few or is it as bad as the media says?
I'm looking to get a new loan with AIB (as they have good rates) because I want to close the loan I have with Rabodirect and Friends First - absolutely hate dealing with them! I also want to pay off my credit card. I've only got a credit card with AIB as I have all my other accounts with BOI (don't want to get a loan from them as their rates are very poor). Will AIB deal with me if I go into one of their branches with bank statements, proof of address and ID? I'm looking to get €18k.
