AH Acceptance of Provisional Offer

Hi,
Could anybody please advise me.
I have been provisionally offered a house and I am 50/50 about taking it. There are lots of things to be done to it yet, floors etc and I want to check how much the final price to me would be before I finally decide.

I also like another development more. That should be coming up in a few months, but of course no guarantee I would get offered one of those.

Should I fill in the Acceptance of Provisional offer letter and send it to them anyway?

I know if I don't accept this offer, I am still on top of the list for further suitable offer, but if I accept this provisional offer and then back out later, would that preclude me from future offers?

depends on the council - unfortunately they all have their own regulations - it it is with fingal then once you accetp an offer you are automatically off the list but if you then back out of that offer you are put back on the list in the same place - others dont do this but i cant give you a lisat of them all as i only dealt with fingal

Hi BB, that's great new, congrats. But you seem a bit reserved about it, its potentially the biggest purchase of your life and I think if your not 100% into what you've been offered then you really need to think about it. Can you see yourself happy in the offer for 10yrs at least? Is the location ok? Area nice? Oh and the rest of the list of questions that you need ask yourself when making any move. Just because its "affordable" doesn't mean its not a big purchase, its not free and your still tied to your contract and mortgage. Sorry not more help but it can only be your own decision really.

The area isn't the greatest in the world, but it is close to work so I have to look at it on a practical basis I guess

It is an ok house, but I'm afraid that it may be over-valued and that I will suffer if I ever do have to sell

It is the biggest purchase I am ever going to make in my lifetime as you say, so that is why I am hesitant. I am also doing it solo so have to make all decisions myself.

Thank you all for your advice :)
