Hi all
Just wondering has anyone successfully made a complaint to/about Aer Lingus? We took flights to Malaga in June but we not able to select seats and spent a full morning trying to use the self seat select but the system was down eventually we gave up and had to phone to get seats together, two adults and 3 thirteen year olds.Made a complaint to Aer Lingus but we just get a copy and pasted reply that basically says nothing. Can one go further with this type of complaint as the customer service is abysmal?Kenbo

So their system was temporarily down and you had to call to get seats together? What are you complaining about? Every website experiences technical glitches now and again. If you didn't get seats together you obviously left it too late to check in.

There does seem to be a persistant issue when it comes to trying to check in on line with children on Aer Lings. We were unable to do so a couple of weeks back but checked in easily at the airport on the self checking machines. We did speak to Aer Lingus the day before and they didn't sound in the least bit surprised that we were having problems. Mind you, all they could say was wait until you get to the airport.

Thanks Aer Lingus seem to have no customer care service original complaint is just being completely ignored one can't us the system to log on within a 30 hour window timeframe so you are left to stew as the call centre doesn't answer.Any other avenue to pursue aside from small claims court. An apology would be sufficient we spent over €1,000 and don't like to be completely ignored.Kenbo

Just so I understand clearly, you booked a flight, tried to select seats but the system was down, so you called them up and selected the seats?

And you want an apology?

My view in the other thread stands...the system is as it is because of ludicrous complaints such as this. Meanwhile people with legitimate grievances suffer. If AL did operate a complaints hotline, it would be clogged up with bizarrre stuff like this and Ann from Clontarf whose tea was too cold.

As complaints go, this is fairly minor. Good help the OP if something serious comes up!

No problem with any of that just wondering can one actually speak to a person to explain what had happened rather than a machine.Kenbo

Best advice - move on. Art lingus don't care. U signed up for a cheap fare and you get average service. Don't stress your brain. Take a night off and celebrate your great family. Best wishes

No, Aer Lingus don't listen to complaints, you're forced to go through the online system and wait 3+ months for a response.

Aer Lingus is a budget airline with pretensions of being something more.
They are just a smaller version of Ryan Air. re-calibrate your expectations.
