In his will my father left his house and land to his wife my mother and, after her death, to me his daughter. My mother did not take out administration on the will and is now mentally incapable of doing so. My sister claims that she has an equal right to me to access the house and use the land until after my mothers death.
Under the Fair Deals Scheme of the HSE I am contributing a considerable amount each week (5% of the value of the house and land) to my mothers maintenance in a nursing home. I think that I alone should have access to the property and use of it. I do not want any part of it interfered with or anything removed from it. Can anyone explain the legal position in this sort of situation?
