I am on invalidity pension and was wondering if I have to declare my fathers house that I inherited when he passed away.The house is derelict and is basically falling down.
I am getting the home benefits package and mortgage assist'(which will end soon).
The question that I have is will I end up getting absolutely nothing if I declare this property?The property is for sale for 20 months with no interested parties even at serious low price.
Also will it be classed as "means" with the first 20K-nil and so on ?If I have to declare it can I argue that all monies from sale will go to clearing bills and remainder to reduce my mortgage.
I am really worried about this situation and any help would be appreciated.
