advice needed on pension

I would appreciate a bit of advice regarding taking out a pension, should i concentrate on clearing my mortgage (15 years to go and owe about 65k) or invest in a pension scheme . would be very distrustful of main lending institutions on advice regarding mortgages.I am self employed on reasonable money but job security would not be good, have invested in an ssia at max contributions.
Any advice would be appreciated.
