I would like to purchase a new laptop computer, I have no experience with regard to what to buy. Make? model? memory? or whatever else is important to consider.
I would appreciate any help or suggestions that i would receive.
Thanks,

Sorry but your post is too vague for people to recommend a laptop.

Laptops range from 300 up to a couple of thousand.

Unless we know your circumstances its hard to advise you.

Have you a budget? Whats it to be used for?

Just chatting overall I would advise you to totally ignore Vista. It was very power and memory hungry and does not suit laptops unless they are very high powered.

Go for Windows XP for your operating system or even better the new Windows 7 - its meant to help laptops run faster as its not as power hungry.

Try to get as much RAM memory as possible. Can never have enough.

If you plan to use a lot of programs, store a lot of music, films, photos etc, then try to get the biggest capacity hard drive as possible.

Be careful about buying a cheap brand. Look for reputable ones like Dell, Asus, HP, Acer etc.

I think you might find that Dell will do good deals for you.

Perhaps buy a 2nd hand one? Chance to save a lot of money.

On the assumption that you simply want a laptop that will allow you to use the internet, email people, and type documents and be able to use wireless internet i.e. a basic and reliable laptop I would suggest the following Dell which is currently on sale at €429 including delivery:

Inspiron 1545 Noo54510

Note: No webcam included (if you wanted to video conference) - an extra€39.
