Myself and Mrs Bond are thinking of going abroad to adopt. The thing is herself is a UK citizen and I am Irish. Do you think it will matter when it comes to dealing with foreign govts?

Would it be a good idea to get herself naturalised before trying?

opinions?

Re: adoption aboard

I would talk to adoption services about this. I would think it will depend on which country you are looking to adopt in.

Re: adoption aboard

my cousin and her husband are just there hopefully adopting 2 boys from vietnam.
they got a lot of help from the adoption board.

Re: adoption aboard

It should'nt matter as you will have your clearance certificate from the Irish Adoption Board ( I'm sure that ye have been assessed & approved by hse already and have the approval from the adoption board). My sister is adopted from Western Russia 7 years ago and the paperwork "book" is a nightmare.

Best of Luck!
