Apparently this is down to the Local Authority facilities, and DLR allow glass in the green bin.Does your collector allow glass in the recycling bin? Ours certainly does not. Nor do any local competitors.
Yes Panda in the DLRCC area always took glass, I only stopped putting glass in the green bin when they started to weigh and charge for itDoes your collector allow glass in the recycling bin? Ours certainly does not. Nor do any local competitors.
@Cervelo : "I'll now be able to put my bins out each week and will now again be putting glass back into the recycling bin rather then bringing up to a bottle bank"
Waste separation has come a long way over the years, there are a number of licensed recovery facilities across the country that separate out the green waste with a mix of automated and manual sorting. They also separate the contents of the black bins with food waste being diverted to digestors and metals diverted for recycling. It seems crazy to mix broken glass .... only gets smashed going into the lorry. How can it be salvaged?
