add critical illness cover to mortgage protection insuranace

Hi there,

We moved into our new house in Jan and have taken out basic mortgage protection insurance. I am however now a bit worried because my partner works in construction and is not entitled to sick pay etc. the way I am as a permanent employee.
Is it advisable to take out additional insurance which we would have to do because the current insurance cannot be altered ?
Any good products/providers ?
