Accidentally adjusted oil pressure on my Riello 40

As the subject says, I thought I was bleeding the burner but have since discovered it’s the oil pressure adjuster and I shouldn’t have touched it. Anyway, I turned it 3 – 4 turns and realised it wasn’t doing anything so turned it back, I since got the burner going by using the reset button and it seems to be working fine.

Have I damaged anything by messing with the pressure, I can see a bright orange flame inside the burner, what colour should it be?

Without an oil gauge the best way to know is from the sound it makes as it burns the oil. If it sounds similar, you should be ok. Flame is always orange regardless of pressure. Just be sure that when you get your annual service it is adjusted,(probably slightly)
 
I soul suggest bringing your service forward and make sure your technician performs a pressure check and a flue gas analisis to ensure correct setting of both oil pressure and air setting do not rely on sound or flame picture
Wrongly set boilers can and do produce dangerous quantities of carbon monoxide that is extremely dangerous
