What would people consider to be a good discount in the current climate.

I'm obviously going to push for as much as possible but am curious.

I might be leaving €80,000 with one company and am wondering what would be considered a good % discount and what are consumers currently experiencing when looking for discount.

This is my new favourite post of all time.

I would ask for 50% on a large one and 25% on one less than 5 meters long.

Except for the flat ones, then I wouldn't ask for any discount.

I believe one with a hole in it cost extra, though :)

If you ask for 3 for the price of 50% of half a dozen if they don't include the fitting, but do add on the wrapping without the paper, then I would suggest you pay no more than he did when he got the 32 at a good price from the discount untill someone asked for a flip on the price to the original.

Well it's the Home Energy forum, so he is obviously building a wind farm.

I would keep pushing and pushing and pushing.

Try asking for two for the price of three. That will really confuse them.

my sincerest apologies everyone -especially the comedians!!! i realise my mistake but at the same time thought that this was an energy forum discussing heating systems, windows, insulation etc. so presumed that members may have understood my post, but hey I was wrong.

So was wondering how keen companies were for business at present.
I feel that heating systems, insulation, windows were overpriced in the recent past and just wondered if haggling was getting people good discounts on their required product.

Would people consider 2,500 to be a good discount on windows costing 45,000
