This may have been discussed before but I was wondering if anybody has any opinions on how likely it will be that the government may scrap the tax relief available for interest on existing investment mortgages in the 2009 budget?
(I know it was abolished in 1998 and re-instated in 2002 but I think at that time it was abolished only for investment mortgages drawn down after April 1998 and existing investment mortgages at April 1998 were not affected).
