A Single director LTD and Company Secretary

This entity has to have a separate company secretary.
In CORE I see the option of adding a company secretary.
Will this trigger a compulsory resignation by the existing company secretary or can there be two?

I'm not sure but I've never heard of an SME with two company secretaries. I would expect the existing secretary to resign and a new one to be appointed.

A company can in theory have joint secretaries but why would you bother?

Thanks for insights: what I was looking for was how CORE will respond once a new Com sec is added.
