A good tv buy

Hi,

My 6 year old Black diamond widescreen crt died today. I suspect it is a power supply. It may not be worth my while getting it repaired so this is where I need advice.

I don't have a huge budget so I would appreciate any advice on a good brand of LCD tv for less than a grand. I would like anything around 27 inch to 32 inch. (my current one is 28" so I would like to stay around that size.)

Also, where is the best place to buy. I live quite close to norn oirn but have been told buying a tv up there won't work here. I have sky digital, and don't see why it wouldn't work.

For what it is worth I got an LG Philips 32" LCD last year paid 1200. Very happy. I did research on that model and it came in the top 5 in many different sites, considering it was up against Sony LCD's costing 2K and over.

The good thing about it is that it is going for 800 in the sales at the moment. Good value.
