I just recently noticed that a pipe located v close to a wooden shelf in my hot press had charred the wooden shelf in it. I don't know how it didn't go on fire. I've turned off the heat for fear of it happening.
I don't know what action to take next. I live in a housing estate, in a mid terrace house and all the houses in the row will be plumbed the same, so they likelihood is that they all pose the same risk. I intend photographing it but I'm unsure as to who to present the problem to.
It's a fire waiting to happen.
I'd appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction.
