Health Insurance A Family member or an independent insurance

Hi All, I'm quite new in this section and wanted to clarify smth.
Is there any difference if you put your spouse as family member on you existing insurance or get a new/separate insurance in her name?

Welcome to AAM.
There is no difference in price or in any other way if your spouse is on your existing insurance policy or if they get a seperate policy in their own
name. It may suit you to pay one bill per month instead of 2 seperate bills.
If you are both on seperate policies, you may also want to be with different companies which is easier to switch if you're on seperate policies.
