Hi,

Is today a Bank Holiday?

I have today off work but they took it out of my annual holidays. Should I not have got it off as its a bank holiday?

They shouldn't have taken it out of your annual holidays.

If you normally worked Saturdays but did not on January 1st, the today is not a holiday for you. So your employers may have agreed to close if staff take day off from leave. Slim

Saturday January 1 was a public holiday. To day January 3 is a day off in lieu of a public holiday

Hi,

I never work weekends. Only work Monday to Friday. All staff told to go into work or take a days holidays.
