I am on a fixed term contract Public Sector, covering a career break. The terms and conditions in Public sector state career break can be only used for family, education or travel. The person on career break is working in a permanant post in public sector in Northern Ireland. It seems unfair she is able to keep her career break in ROI for up to 5 years, whilst working in NI, and I am in a temporary post with 2 more years for the career break to run.
Is it legal for her to be working outside the state? What rights to a permanant position do I have?
Thanks.
