3 Day Week & Maternity Benefit

I have a friend who was reduced to a 3 day week earlier this year and she receives half the JSB payment each week.

My understanding (assuming her work status stays the same) is that she will receive this for 2 years?

She is expecting in a few months so does anyone know what happens re Maternity Benefit and the JSB which she currently receives, I checked www.welfare.ie but it was not clear to me.

In her relevant year which would be 2009 she would be entitled to the maximium Maternity Benefit.

My query is whether she will still receive the JSB benefit during this time? Logically I would think not as she is not actively seeking work in this period.

When the 6 months of Maternity ends & she returns to work; then does she have to reapply for JSB or does the existing JSB prior to her Maternity Leave continue?

If she has to reapply, then is she entitled to 2years again at half the rate of JSB? She has been in continuous employment for >10yrs and was full time up to a year ago.
