2017 MacBook Pro logic board

My MacBook Pro started randomly shutting down and not powering up.

The Apple Store has said the logic board needs replacing at a cost of £469.

I asked about goodwill with the machine being less than 4 years old but was told there is none.

Has anyone managed to get a replacement under EU consumer law or managed to get a third party repair?

Apple does not have an Apple Store in Ireland but there is one in Northern Ireland. I'm not sure who you've been dealing with but I could hazard a good guess.

Yes, my experience was at the Apple Store.

They refused several times but once I quoted statutory rights under the CRA 2015 they’ve agreed to replace it without charge.

I got similar from a apple reseller in Dublin so ended up going with a Chinese shop who sorted it out for me.

What Apple Store though - https://www.compub.com - is not an Apple Store, it's an independent Apple Premium Reseller

I'm puzzled as to why anyone would contact anywhere other than Apple for repairs or warranty issues - https://support.apple.com/en-ie/repair - it couldn't be simpler.

To reiterate, the Apple Store, of which there is only one on the island.
