add in the new changes lately where irish investors can no longer own u.s domiciled european based etf,s and also the irish situation where you have an eight year rule and a very high exit tax

Hi what is this change about US domiciled etfs , when did that come in I did not hear. Is it the case that you can longer buy them or that the tax situation has changed now. I know this is off topic

Not quite. I actually suggested that developed ex-US stocks comfortably outperformed US stocks over the first decade of this millennium.

The chosen starting and (more importantly) ending point significantly impacts the return of any index.
