18 y/o child living @ home in school is he child / dependent for tax purposes?

There are no taxes credits for dependent children unless he /she is incapacitated

The only tax credit which might be relavant is the home carers tax credit.

Here are the details. It looks like an 18 year is not a dependent for the purposes of home carers tax credit.

Whether the child is a "Dependent child" is also relevant for:
- One parent family credit
- Widowed parent credit
- Increased exemption.

The OPFC leaflet does state that a child over 18 and in full time education counts as a dependent child, I didn't check the others but I assume they are the same.
