10 year home bond

Again hello, I dont understand how this works so I hope someone can help. A friend of mine purchased her house in 2007, The company that built the estate that she lives in has gone to the wall, She was wondering where she stood regarding the 10 year home bond, Any advice is appreciated.

To clarify, if the house is registered with Homebond, the builder going to the wall will have no affect on the cover.

Leo, My friend being the scatter brain that she is does not know if she is registered or not. Would all estates built in the last 5 years be covered or is it up to the individual to take care of it at the time of build.

It's generally the builders who take care of this. Your friend's solicitor should have the paperwork if it was registered. Failing that, neighbours who bought from new should know. A phone call to HomeBond should clarify.
