€80 clamping fine - for wrong registration number submitted. Any recourse?

I have two cars registered with ParkingTag for car parking in Dublin - mine and my wife's.

Last week I paid €2.60 for 120 minutes parking.

I returned to find my car clamped.

It transpired that when I texted 'Park Yellow 120', my wife's car instead of mine was logged for the 2 hours.

So, while the space I occupied with my car was paid for, the car in it (mine) was not the one of their records.

When the guys came to remove the clamp, I showed them the text messages on my phone. They ackknowledged that I had paid €2.60, but that since it was the wrong registration, there was nothing I could do.

Do I have any recourse?

Worst case scenario, I presume I can ask for the €2.60 back! :)

Thanks.

you could try their appeals process.
Not sure if they will do much about it though. Who's to say that your wifes car wasnt parked beside it! :)
