€3000 to spend-what car to buy?

Hi,
Looking for advice on buying a diesel car for about €3000 - something economical as have a fairly long commute.
Any suggestions?

Hi Colettew - Will this new purchase be a Family car? Engine size - for €3000 I think this will be a pre 2008 car so you need to take this into account i.e. the bigger the engine, the higher the tax. Have you had a look on carzone or cbg?
